Music & Composition
Acousmatic composition
Julie Mondor holds a diploma in electro-acoustic composition from the Conservatoire de Pantin, and was awarded the Drac/Ministry of Culture original music composition grant in 2023, as well as the SACD circus music grant. She creates sound worlds in which sound becomes a poetic language, offering audiences a deeply sensory and introspective listening experience.
I’ve found that composing on a support is an open art that includes a wide variety of compositional forms, such as installations, radio, performance and concerts. Sound is the Matéria Prima, the starting substance before it is defined, untouched by interpretation.
The idea of musique concrète invites us to take into account all tangible perceptual characteristics as possible musical values. Freed from classical constraints, I develop perceptual games that emphasize the plasticity and life of these materials, as well as their meaning.
My approach as a sound alchemist leads me to share and awaken a new musical sensibility, open to all. Projecting music onto loudspeakers, to unfold new relationships between movement, matter and space.
A theme, an idea, a concept that inspires me is at the source of each new creation… and thus embodies the beginning of a new adventure!
I set up shoots to create the sounds, so that I can encounter new materials and playful gestures. Then comes the exciting work of multiplying these sounds, forging and sculpting them, and building the composition.

Custom orders
Each sound creation is designed to meet unique requirements, adapted to the specificities of each project, whether accompanying a visual work, supporting an audiovisual production or collaborating with other artistic disciplines.
Immersive creations
As part of festivals or dedicated performances, our sound works transport listeners into immersive worlds. Played in spaces adapted to multi-dimensional diffusion, they push back the limits of auditory perception.
A dialogue between sound and space
In museums, exhibitions and shows, sound creations find their place as immersive elements, multiplying reception. Each composition integrates harmoniously with visual and scenic works, creating a subtle dialogue between sound, image and movement.

Instrumental improvisations
Improvisation has the virtue of beginning: courage is the improviser’s first quality, and he or she must have “a spirit of fire”. Initiative is perpetual.
Learning to improvise implies the asceticism of uniting body and mind, soul and spirit.
François de Raymond
The process of improvisation develops an astonishing compositional mechanism: whether an unforeseen element arises, whether we’ve played what we weren’t looking for or even what we wanted to avoid, we integrate this unforeseen element, make use of its richness and exploit its possibilities.
« Improvisation might even be considered the highest degree of composition, since reflection and execution are inseparably intertwined.»
François de Raymond
Film music
What I can bring to the image is a way of transposing the emotions and very inner sensations of the characters, or the vibrancy of situations and places, through sound materials that are new, strange and almost magical, with no known reference.
