Julie Mondor, a cellist by training, has been exploring contemporary theater and circus for over 20 years, performing as an actress, musician, author and composer, particularly in acousmatic music.

When she encounters an object, a material or an idea, whether on stage or in her mental and sound worlds, Julie Mondor never delivers them intact to the public.
If they are the result of skilful and patient manipulation, they remain whole in their mystery, sometimes hidden behind a certain malice, always free to reveal their thousand facets, like an object of investigation in search of extensions.
Composition, acousmatic music, electroacoustic music, baroque cello, performance, live performance, contemporary circus, monotypes, engraving… Julie Mondor travels through territories from which she extracts codes, tools and references to combine them in new dynamics.

“I’m not interested in defending a strict coherence. As a multidisciplinary artist, I freely explore different universes, mixing baroque music, acousmatic music, live performance and contemporary circus.
These disciplines, though distinct, interact with each other and nourish my artistic approach. I prefer to let boundaries disappear to make room for unrestrained creativity, where each practice organically enriches the others.”
